Nigeria deports illegal immigrants!
Abuja - Nigeria has deported more than 100 illegal immigrants since the beginning of the week, a development senior officials said highlighted the fact the country's borders are porous.
The arrested immigrants are from nearby Ghana and Niger. This follows last week's deportation of another 119 illegal immigrants from neighbouring Cameroon, Niger, Mali and Benin following increased insurgencies by Boko Haram.
"We have 103 suspects who will be repatriated immediately," said Abdullahi Yerima, controller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
He urged government to provide funds to help NIS curb the influx of illegal immigrants.
"The type of aircraft we have now is not the type that should be used for border patrols because they cannot land at just any location. We need helicopters."
