There's a cheaper version of Alexander Amosu's £1.2m champagne

It now makes sense. I for talk since. Who gives away a £1.2m bottle of champagne or anything for that matter...just like that? Luxury designer Alexander Amosu has cleared the confusion. He took to his instagram page to explain that there's a Swarovski diamond edition of his Taste of Diamond champagne. The diamond encrusted bottle is worth £1.2m, while the Swarovski version is just £350.

This is probably the version Don Jazzy and Peter Okoye got. Una come dey gawk since. Hisss.! :-) He reacted to the Daily Mail article about the price of the champagne.

Funke Akindele confirms end of marriage!

Following an official statement released a few hours ago by Funke Akindele's camp confirming the end of her one year marriage, the star actress has removed her estranged husband's name, Oloyede, from all her social media accounts.

She's also spoken for the first time about the end of her marriage.

First of all let me clarify that I have not replied any SMS or spoken to anyone on this development before now and neither have I threatened to sue anyone. 18 year old Anna Ebiere Banner has been appointed Special Adviser on Tourism & Culture to Bayelsa Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson. The governor himself got on stage after she won the crown last night and made her his new special adviser.

You know how some queens come from one state but represent other states at the pageant? Well, that didn't happen with Anna. She's originally from Bayelsa state and I hear she's really 18 years old. She was born  February 18, 1995. 18 year old special adviser? Well, na her luck. Congrats to her!

Rivers Crisis:-President withdraws JTF from Rivers State Government House

That is what Sahara Reporters is reporting. According to SR, about 30 soldiers guarding the Governor's lodge have been summarily withdrawn by the Brigade Commander in charge of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Port Harcourt at the orders of President Goodluck Jonathan.

SaharaReporters also reports that the soldiers took with them two Armored Personnel Cars (APC) usually stationed at Government House.

A military source allegedly told SR that the removal of the soldiers was ordered from Abuja. He warned that things might get bloodier in the state capital with the JTF gone from Government House leaving the security of the governor and his aides in the hands of a few police officers and State Security Services agents.

for 1st Choice Candidates





NOTICE TO ALL CANDIDATES SEEKING ADMISSION INTO THE RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR 2013/2014 ACADEMIC SESSION

 All candidates who chose the Rivers State University of Science and Technology as their 1st choice University during the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are hereby requested to take note of the following:-

 i.              The screening exercise for admission of candidates will be administered only on candidates who chose RSUST as their first choice University.

ii.            Candidates who chose RSUST as their second choice are not expected to apply for now.

iii         Candidates who scored 180 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are qualified for the screening exercise in all the Faculties of the University.

 iv.        Candidates must possess the basic five (5) O’ level credit passes in accordance with the University’s Entry Requirements (Faculty /Departmental) before applying for the screening Exercise. It is mandatory that Candidates should upload their O ‘Level results and a scanned copy of their passport photograph.

 v          Candidates are expected to register for the screening exercise On-line by logging onto www.ust.edu.ng and make e-payment of Three Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N3,500.00) only by using Interswitch Verve enabled cards. Comprising Two Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N2, 500.00) Examination Fee, Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) for Computer Demonstration Exercise and Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) for Study CD.

vi         Candidates are to note that the mode of screening exercise is ELECTRONIC. It is important that candidates practice how to use the computer especially the use of mouse and keyboard before they turn up for the screening exercise. In addition, the Information Technology Centre (ITC) may be conducting a 1-week demonstration session prior to the examination date to candidates for the screening exercise.

 vii        The closing date for the registration of the Post-UTME screening exercise is Thursday, 11th  July, 2013

SCHEDULE FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE

The Post-UTME screening exercise will take place from Monday 15th to Friday 19th July, 2013 at the Information Technology Centre (ITC) of the University.  Candidates are requested to please note that the Post-UTME screening exercise is as scheduled in the screening exercise slip they printed out after their On-line registration.  The scheduled date, time and venue shall be indicated in the Post-UTME examination slip.

Consideration will not be given to candidates who fail to appear for the screening exercise on the scheduled date and time.  All candidates for the screening exercise are required to come to the examination venue with their Post-UTME exam slip printed out during the On-line Post-UTME registration.


Candidates should note that GSM phones will not be allowed into the Examination hall during the Post-UTME screening exercise.

Parents, Guardians and Well-wishers are advised to stay away from the venue of the screening exercise

Candidates must report at the examination venue one (1) hour before the scheduled exam time on their exam slip.

It is important to note that the names of successful candidates for admission shall be published on the same site (www.ust.edu.ng.).

Gov. Rotimi Ameachi honours Joseph Yobo

   

RIVERS State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has named a street and a N4.3bn football college after Super Eagles captain and Fenerbahce defender, Joseph Yobo.

Amaechi named the street leading to Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state after Yobo to honour the Eagles star for leading the national team to victorious outing at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He spoke during a state banquet in honour of the footballer at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
                
He said, “We are very proud of you (Yobo) because you played well and havedone well for the country; I congratulate you and your wife and I wish you all the best.

“I am building a football college worth N4.3bn, which we shall name after you and we shall deliver it before we leave office. So it will be called Joseph Yobo Football College. The street leading to the new stadium in the new city will be renamed Joseph Yobo Road.”

Portharcourt born Fast rising singer Burna Boy was among the shortlisted artistes to perform at the recently concluded Ghana Meets Naija concert  in Accra, Ghana.
but the singer was taken off the list of performing acts at the last minute because of his deal with Glo.

Governor Amaechi Donates $100,000 To OJB

Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has donated 100k USD to save #OJB .
 He approved the total money expected to get music producer the required medical treatment.The initiative was muted by Jazzman Olofin, and MetroNews Online publisher Femi Davies,contact was made to the Gov via the Political Editor of Thisday,Wale Olaleye.

The money will be handed over to OJB by Friday July 5,2013.

#BBA Housemate: Betty To Be Jailed For Having sex In Public

 

According to reports, some lawyers in her home country are getting set to sue the housemate because she had s*x in the Big Brother house with fellow BBA housemate Bolt from Sierra Leon three days after the show began. According to a local radio show in Ethiopia called Ethiopikalink, if Betty is convicted, she could face up to six years in prison as it is an offense to have s*x in public in the country.

The lawsuit is not the only thing Betty is facing since leaving the BBA House, she’s also facing nationwide condemnation from groups who have asked the media and companies to boycott her.

Some lawyers in Ethiopia have announced plans to sue Betty for having sex in public. She had sex with fellow housemate, Bolt from Sierre Leon, just three days after entering the BBA House.

Pregnant Widow Accuses Police of Killing Husband In Port Harcourt

A 7 months pregnant woman, Mrs Evidence Nwachukwu has petitioned the Police and human rights groups in Rivers State, to allow justice prevail in the case of her late husband, Lucky Nwachukwu, who was recently murdered by a police officer attached to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company.



The deceased, a welder and Public Relation Officer to Ogbegene Community Development Committee, CDC, in Ogba/Egbema/Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State was allegedly shot at Agip Oil Company field in the community by a police attaché simply identified as Mallam.
According to the pregnant grieving widow who has three other children, her husband was shot April 18, 2013 by the police while returning to Agip from a community site, where he was supervising the company’s sponsored community water project.
“They have made me widow overnight and I am calling on Nigerians and Police authorities to assist me and my children to address this injustice because all efforts to reach Agip to take responsibility for their action has been rebuffed,” she lamented.
Chairman of Ogbegene CDC, Ishmael Odili, added “When the decreased was shot, I was the first they called as he died after the police rushed him to Deye Hospital, Omoku. The man is innocent and had done no wrong, that explains why the company (Agip) is afraid to own up, but I know we will get justice in the matter.”
Rights activist and counsel to the widow, Mr. Higher King, said: “The Police Commissioner has signed our petition. All the poor widow is asking for is justice. We have invited the company several times, but they refused meeting us.”
Rivers Police Public Relations Officer, Angela Agabe, said “The police are still investigating the matter. A lawyer just left my office in respect of the case but I want the media to always differentiate between spy police and the Nigeria police because the suspect is not with the Nigeria police. He is a Spy Police.”

3 UNILAG Undergraduates Died Celebrating Friend’s Engagement

 A University of Lagos (UNILAG ) student identified as Iyabo recently got engaged and her friends decided to celebrate with her.
The party was held off campus on Sunday 30th of June 2013 , and the students-the bride to be, her cousin Funmilayo Adelowotan, friends Eniola Abiodun and Temiloluwa Osindero -left for the party from a private Hostel (Emerald) located in front of Unilag main gate.
The party went well.

Sadly however, on their way back to school, they were involved in a fatal car accident along the international airport Road in Ikeja, Lagos.
A trailer lost control and hit their car, killing the driver (Iyabo’s fiance younger brother), Funmi Adelowotan ( Iyabo’s cousin) and their friend Eniola Abiodun on the spot.
The bride-to-be Iyabo and Temiloluwa survived, but were badly injured.
They are currently receiving treatment at LASUTH.
Until her death, Funmilayo Adelowotan was on a First Class CGPA of 4.71, she was fondly called ‘Miss Green’ by students and lecturers in her faculty.
She was a 200Level student of Quantitative surveying(Faculty of Environmental Science).
Eniola Abiodun was a 400 level student of Mass Communications.

Kim n Kanye Fraud Baby Pics.

Kanye and Kim set a trap for their friends to see which one would sell a picture of their new baby. According to TMZ, they received a photo purportedly of North West but when they checked with Kim's camp to see if it was the real baby pic, they discovered they had received one of several decoy photos distributed by the couple.

TMZ reports:
Someone has been trying to sell this baby pic for a lot of $$$$ -- allegedly the spawn of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.  But sources connected with the couple tell TMZ, it's a fraud!
So here's what we're being told. Kim felt people in her world were going to hawk baby photos, so she wanted to catch the culprits quickly.  We're told Kim hatched a plan and sent a half-dozen of her "friends" pictures of a baby she claimed was North West -- but we're told it was an impostor infant.
Sure enough ... someone came along and tried selling us this pic (above).  Gotta say ... it looks like it could be Kim and Kanye's baby.  It has the right ... well, you know ... but Kim would obviously pick a pic of an impostor baby that had the qualities of her own child.

Our K & K sources have seen the pic and claim it's not the real deal.

By the way ... we also got hold of another pic of a baby Kim sent to several other friends -- Bogus Baby #2.  We're told she's waiting to see if someone tries to sell this one as well.

Omotola in Hollywood Series

Omotola made her US TV debut in new drama series titled 'Hit The Floor' which aired last night on VH1. She had a small role but represented well and looked really beautiful. She played Akon's wife, Omatelo, and they were both shown at a fund raising party on the show.
